Family Fun in the Park: Dallas, OR Family Photography

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting my friend Kelleigh and her family at the Arboretum for a fun family session. Her boys are adorable and pretty easy going. They weren’t impressed with my barnyard noises but Dad was able to crack a few jokes that had them smiling. Thank goodness for Dads!

Kelleigh is a talented designer with her own website that you can find by clicking HERE. She designs a lot of papercraft templates and blogs about all sorts of things including but not limited to couponing, garage saling (is that a word?), running, and life with her two boys. Her husband Mitch is pretty involved with local happenings and also runs the State Farm Insurance office in Dallas. You can find his website HERE.

I love these boys’ grins! What a pair!

Fall Foliage: Eugene, OR Family Photographer

I recently did the M family’s photos with a focus on Mom, Melissa. Melissa needed some photos for the blog she’s doing with her Mom (remember Jan?) and while we were at it we fit in some family photos too! We walked down to the neighborhood park to take advantage of the beautiful fall foliage and golden light pouring through the red and gold trees. Believe it or not we managed to fit individual photos of the kids, the kids all together, the whole family, and several poses/clothing changes of just Melissa in just one hour. That has to be a record. Especially when two of the kids are three and under!

Here’s my favorite of just Melissa…

Aren’t they a beautiful family?

This little guy gave me a run for my money last August when he refused to open his eyes. It took the entire session but I managed to sneak this photo in at the very end with the help of Thomas the Train.

I love this one of the three kids together. Aren’t they sweet?

Down on the Farm: Monmouth, OR Family Portrait Photographer

When you’re a photographer you wind up with a zillion photos of your own children, quite a few of your spouse, a handful of yourself, and practically zero of your entire family. At least that’s the way it is for most photographers I know! I’m friends with one of the local photographers and we solved the problem by trading services. She shot my family a little over a year ago (see her blog post HERE) and she let me practice some maternity photos while she was pregnant with her son. The plan was to do her family photos last fall after her little guy was born, but as things happen with little ones, we didn’t get around to it until this fall.

We met at their family farm a little outside of Monmouth on a beautiful fall evening. I’ve never done a photo session where we had to take breaks to shoo cows out of the way, but now I can say I’ve worked with farm animals. Something to add to the resume! Alysun was really hoping for some photos that incorporated sunflare and I did my best. The best lighting was at the very end of the session when the kids were more then ready to be done. Isn’t that always the case? I had a lot of fun and I hope they did too!
