Big Families are Fun Families! Salem, Oregon Family Photographer

I’ve photographed several large family groups and it’s always a little like a zoo and it always takes ten times longer to get everyone in the right spot then it does to actually take the picture.  In the end all the mania is worth it and I love giving a family a portrait of their entire extended family to enjoy and document their growing brood.  Especially in this family’s case!  It doesn’t matter how you slice it, 24 kids between the ages of 2 months and 18 is a LOT of kids!  I photographed a few individual families and smaller groupings in addition to the whole clan, but the hardest shot by far was the one of just the cousins.  Getting 24 kids stay in one pose and all look one direction with a pleasant expression on their faces is a little like winning the lottery but we did our best.  I kind of like the goofy outtake of the kids the best because it shows off their individual personalities!
