Back to School Vintage Style: Kids Photographer Salem, Oregon

My kids started school this week but before they did we snuck in a quick vintage themed Back to School photo session just for fun!  My daughter is a third grader this year and my son starts kindergarten tomorrow.  I’ve wanted to do a vintage school themed photo session for some time and when I found this old school desk on sale at a local antique store this summer I knew I had to have it!  My daughter is wearing a blouse and jumper from Matilda Jane’s Home Room collection and my son is wearing suspenders and a navy polka dot tie with his plain button down shirt and jeans.  You have no idea how many times I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to tie that thing but my husband was out of town so I managed!  The books are from our book collection and we picked up three pretty red apples from Safeway.

I’m thrilled with how it all came together and am happy to offer the antique desk up as a prop for future sessions.  Let me know if you want to use it for your photo session!  I’m even contemplating using it for some fall mini sessions if there’s enough interest…
