A Personal Photo Project: March 17-April 3, 2015 Project 365

cat on couch

March 17: Dexter isn’t too sure what to think of me, I won’t let him sit near my leg so he’s mostly been watching me from above.

leg after surgery

March 18: Surgery day.  Got to the hospital by 5:45am and was in surgery shortly after 7am for about 3.5 hours.  My fibula fracture was more difficult to fix then my pilon tibia fracture which is the opposite of what they were expecting.  The anesthesiologist was fabulous and gave me a nerve block so I didn’t feel the lower half of my right leg at all the entire day.  Felt pretty good!kids watching tv

March 19: Nerve block wore off and it was a HARD day.  Took this photo of the kids watching the new Annie with me, but spent most of the day staring at the clock and waiting to take meds!

boy vacuuming

March 20: Still in a fair amount of pain, but I’m surviving. Kids were helping Daddy clean the house a bit before our company arrived, Ethan vacuumed while Grace cleaned the main bathroom.  Sure glad I taught them how to clean the bathroom last summer!family on the couch

March 21: My brother and his wife spent the night with us while in town from South Carolina.  It was good to see them both even if I couldn’t move off the couch!  This photo is from watching the Timbers game together, terrible game but fun to watch it with my brother!

March 22: Started this book my mother-in-law sent me in her care package.  Took a few days to read it but really enjoyed it!Morning sunlight

March 23: I somehow got lucky and picked up my camera to capture the 30 seconds of sun we had today.  Right after this the sun went behind a cloud and stayed there all day.Facebook on a laptop

March 24: Boredom is really setting in.  Spending a lot of time online, reading, or playing Ticket to Ride on my iPad.

girl watching cartoons

March 25: Grace snuggled up on the couch with me watching some cartoons. It hasn’t exactly been a fun filled Spring Break for the kids, but they will survive.  Ethan doesn’t mind but Grace isn’t one to enjoy spending a lot of time at home.  She likes to see people and go places, thank you to friends who helped meet her needs while I couldn’t!orange tabby cat

March 26: Dexter eyeballing my lap again.  He’s decided I smell ok and since I allow him to sit on my lap now he spends a lot of time curled up next to me.coffee and a book

March 27: In our regular morning routine I make the coffee and serve it to David in bed.  In our current morning routine David is now making the coffee and bringing it to me on the couch.  Have to say it’s kind of nice!

man asleep

March 28: David taking a much deserved Saturday Snooze in the recliner while the last load of laundry finishes.  He and the kids spent all day cleaning and doing the entire week’s worth of laundry (including sheets and towels!) before he leaves for the airport at 4am Sunday morning and his Aunt Diane and Uncle Ed come and babysit the kids and I for a few days.girl playing video game

March 29: Grace playing some Nintendo Gamecube on the last evening of Spring Break.ankle splint

March 30: My view hasn’t changed at all in the past few weeks.  This is what I look at all day, my foot above my head.shadow

March 31: Changing of the guard, Aunt Diane and Uncle Ed left this evening after a delicious dinner and David got home from Georgia just after I sent the kids to bed.  Took this photo of his shadow in the kitchen, so glad to see him!purple ankle cast

April 1: Got my new purple cast during my 4 hour doctor’s appointment this morning.  It’s the fourth time I got a new splint or cast but only the second I was awake for.  Apparently getting a splint or cast on or off causes me to have a vasalvagal reaction which basically means I almost faint.  Not exactly fun, and rather embarrassing.  After nearly fainting I felt “off” all day and slept the best I’ve slept in the last 3 weeks in my own bed!!!boy on couch playing with iPad

April 2: Now that I have my cast and am sleeping in my own bed we put the couch back together.  Ethan is sitting in the spot I spent 3 weeks and I was happy to spend the day on the recliner!  It’s amazing what a difference it’s made.

tulips

April 3: Another first….the first photo I’ve taken standing up since the accident!  I wheeled my walker over to the fireplace mantle where the tulips David bought for me yesterday were sitting and took this photo on one leg.
