6 Month Old Olivia: Baby Photographer Salem, Oregon

I met Olivia and her family for a last minute session at the park last week to take advantage of the gorgeous weather we’ve been enjoying recently.  It was really pleasant out and a great way to spend a spring afternoon!  Olivia’s mom brought along some super cute outfits including the pink lace romper with a matching pink headband which Olivia thought tasted mighty fine.  We also utilized her moses basket that she brought along to carry all of her stuff and an antique baby quilt that I inherited from my husband’s grandmother.

Olivia was a great subject despite the fact that she threw off her sleep schedule (seems like scheduling a portrait session is a sure fire way to do that!).  She has very clear likes and dislikes and absolutely makes it known that she doesn’t like to lay down on her back.  I have a feeling that once she becomes mobile her parents are going to be chasing her because she is one curious little girl who is ready to explore!

Spring Mini Sessions: Salem, Oregon Photographer

The original date for my Spring Mini Sessions was a total bust, it rained and it poured so we re-scheduled for this past weekend.  Again the weather forecast wasn’t too promising and it threatened rain but it stayed dry and the soft overcast lighting was a bonus.  Thanks to my Spring Mini Session families for being flexible during the rainy season, I think the wait was worth it!

We met a local cherry orchard in Dallas and while the cherry trees were mostly done blooming it was still a nice location with beautiful light and some pretty yellow spring flowers.  Each family had about 15 minutes of time which worked perfectly for all the toddlers involved.  In fact two of them told me they were all done right around the 15 minute mark…perfect timing!  If you have a 2-3 year old with a short attention span (which let’s face it…is pretty much every toddler!) Mini Sessions are a great option for an updated family portrait.

I enjoyed the variety of sessions I photographed in just a little over an hour…a family with a newborn and toddler, a family with a toddler and baby on the way, a three year old, and finally a mom and daughter duo.

I will be doing another set of Mini Sessions in early summer, sign up for my Newsletter (the tab is on the upper left corner) or send me a message asking to be put on my email list to be the first to know the dates and times when the next set of Mini Sessions is scheduled.

Cuteness Times Two! Salem, Oregon Baby Girl Twins Photographer

What’s better than an adorable baby who has just mastered the art of sitting?  TWO adorable babies who have just mastered the art of sitting!  Abigail and Lily are two very sweet baby girls and it was fun to spend an hour with them.  Since it’s January and the weather has been so icky I brought my portable studio equipment and we set up in the living room and even utilized their fabulous (newly installed!) hardwood floors for a few shots.  I’m always happy when a client has great floors that I can use, but even if they don’t I have plenty of flooring options I bring along.  Even though their living room has wonderfully huge windows it was way too dark and overcast that day to use natural light only which is why these images were taken with my studio lighting.  I always bring my lighting equipment to indoor portrait sessions and it’s not a big deal when I have to use it.

While I always prefer to head outdoors for portraits I do love how a simple studio setup can really put the focus on the subject….or subjects in this case!
